Welcome to Noran Bank Farm

Noran Bank Farm is a 17th century farmhouse dating back to 1617. When the Barker family moved here in 1929, it was a working farm with a small flock of Herdwick Sheep. They started running a Bed & Breakfast business with guests arriving by train and bus from all over the country. From this, long term friendships were formed lasting for many years.

Handed down from Father to Son in 1963, from Father to Daughter in 1999 and now Mother to Son guaranteed, it looks like the future of Noran Bank Farm is in safe hands.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Patterdale, we offer both Bed & Breakfast and Bunkhouse accommodation. Located in the heart of the Lake District, we provide an ideal stopover for Coast to Coast walkers.

In 2010 we converted a Lakeland stone barn attached to the farmhouse into a bunkhouse. Converted to a very high standard and great value for money this has proved highly popular with walkers and cyclists some who have returned with groups of friends after visiting us on the Coast to Coast walk.
